Glossary

  • Attack — To attack, a card places influence on each hex within its range equal to the power values shown. Sometimes, an effect may allow a card to attack specific hexes. In those cases, it doesn't matter if the hex is within the card's range.
  • Banish — To banish a card, put it in a banished pile (separate from the discard pile). Banished cards are lost for the rest of the game.
  • Cost — A card's energy cost is listed in the top left corner (inside the swirling paint icon). This number represents how much energy it costs to play that card to the board.
  • Destroy — To destroy a card, place it into its owner's discard pile from the board.
  • Discard — To discard a card, place it into its owner's discard pile from a player's hand, deck or other zone.
  • Enemy Hex — An enemy hex is any hex with influence on it that belongs to another player.
  • Friendly Hex — A friendly hex is a hex with influence on it that belongs to you.
  • Highest Power — A card may have more than one power value, represented by numbers inside red hexes in their range. The "highest power" is the greatest of these numbers (including any power buffs that are added to the card).
  • Influence — Influence is represented on the board with dice.
  • Move — Players may sometimes move a card, some influence or both from one hex to another. Whenever a card moves, it may rotate as well.
  • Neutral Hex — A neutral hex is a hex on the board with no influence on it.
  • Power — A card's power is represented by numbers on red hexes in its range. It shows how much friendly influence that card will place on that hex when it attacks.
  • Tuck — Occasionally, a card may ask you to "tuck" a card under another card on the board. Unless otherwise stated, tucked cards have no effect on the game and are removed when the card above them is removed.
