The Next Evolution for Fame & Fiction

Human Art

Firstly, I want to express how thankful I am to everyone who has supported and continues to support Fame & Fiction throughout its Beta. Without you, I would not be here to announce this exciting news for the future of the game.

I am happy to announce that art commissions for Fame & Fiction's full release has begun!

I am still at the beginning of this process but I am very happy with the results so far.

I am committed to this project and I will take as much time as I need to see the game fully realised with human art. To that end, proceeds from every sale and Club F&F subscription will go right back into the game.

Adopt a Card

If you would like to support the game further and become a part of the Fame & Fiction itself, you can adopt a card.

Leave your mark on the world of Fame & Fiction. By adopting a card, you will directly contribute to the artwork of the game and have your initials, short name or alias permanently featured on a card of your choice. Anyone who chooses to adopt a card will also receive an exclusive, permanent role in our Discord server - Pantheon Role. This role allows permanent access to the members-only channels otherwise available to Club F&F members.

You can adopt a card for £100, helping bring the world of Fame & Fiction to life.

If you are interested in adopting a card, please email me at fameandfictiongame@gmail.com.

Evolution

Until now, I have been using the services of board game prototyping companies to produce the game on a small scale. Once the full game is ready, I plan to take another leap, putting the game on a crowd-funding platform to reach wider audiences and fund a full-scale print run with a board game manufacturer. This will be very important for allowing me to work on Fame & Fiction for the long-term.

The transition from prototyping companies to manufacturers will inevitably change the physical make-up of the game, down to the card stock itself. There are many upsides to this change including but not limited to:

  • Cards should feel better than ever to the touch and shuffle smoothly right out-of-the-box.

  • The manufacturing process should ensure more consistency in cutting, brightness and quality.

  • There will be potential for foil treatments to make your favourite cards that much more special.

Unfortunately, this will also mean that new cards will stand out when mixed with cards from the current beta making them incompatible without using card sleeves. I have used this opportunity to tweak the overall balance of the game as well as make some graphical design improvements which will be revealed at a later date. The final version of the game will also feature all new cards and strategies so players of the beta will be able to get a totally fresh experience when it releases.

Cryptid Chaos

One of the decks available with the full release of Fame & Fiction will be Cryptid Chaos. Here's a sneak peek at the art for the Ningen by the brilliant artist, Miko Dołhun:

Which cryptic creature do you think will be the Legendary card for this deck? Post your guesses in the Discord Community!

A New Dawn for Fame & Fiction
